Las Hadas
Home Up Las Hadas Santiago Land Trip to Colima

Below are some pictures of the Las Hadas anchorage and marina. It seemed at times we almost could see Dudley Moore and Bo Derek running around in the hot sand, just like we did in the film "10".  We took many of these scenic pictures of the harbour while taking early morning walks, started daily by climbing on a pebble stone driveway to the top of the Hotel Las Hadas, and walking along the road that borders the peninsula between the Santiago and Manzanillo Bays, with its many ups and downs. Good for the leg muscles! We would usually walk over to the beach town of Santiago, and have brunch at Juanito's, one of the best family-run restaurants in the Santiago beach town area.

Above, SIESTA (left) lies at anchor at Las Hadas, along with its twin sistership TACKLESS II (right). Don and Gwen sailed from the Virgin Islands and Eastern Caribbean Islands, through Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, the Canal, Ecuador, the Galapagos, and north into Costa Rica and Mexico. It's been fun to buddy-boat with a sistership.

Eduardo, the dockmaster at the Las Hadas Marina, turned out to be a great friend and tour advisor. He helped us plan our outing to Colima, the town where he grew up.  His hospitality and easy smile will always be remembered by all of us.
